Mt. Scott Community Center And Pool

The recreation center was acquired in 1949. Mt. Scott Community Center started off in the mid 1920's as a wooden bath house and outdoor swimming pool. Additions in 1948 and 1953, including a roller rink, transformed the facility into a year 'round community center. The latest renovations, completed in June 2000, included an indoor aquatic park.

The indoor recreational pool amenities include water slides, a 25 yard lap pool with 6 lanes heated to 84 degrees, a square deep diving pool, current channel vortex with interactive play features, and heated to 88 degrees. The whirlpool spa is heated to 102 degrees and the pool water depths range from 2 feet to 9 feet (Except deeper in the diving pool). Lockers feature the normal men's and women's but also family changing rooms so you can all stay together.

Other amenities of the facility include indoor basketball courts, community center, fitness room, gymnasium, kitchen, meeting and party rooms, roller skating rink, and a stage. The outdoor play area includes many swings, slides, and the usual for the kids, as well as a great wading pool open during the summer hours. The winding bark path lit by old fashioned street lamps still weaves between old growth trees. Mt. Scott Park is another perfect picnic park, but bring your own BBQ.
